What Makes Us Different?
In the Northern Virginia Area, there’s no lack of abundance when it comes to yoga offerings. Yoga studios are everywhere. Yoga is offered in gyms, fitness centers, dance studios, in hospitals or at work.
When it comes to choosing where you will practice, it’s easy to get lured in by dirt cheap deals in hopes of achieving inner peace. As the saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”
At The Ayurvedic Path Yoga in Herndon, we offer more than a place to exercise. The first thing that sets us apart is our location. Our beautiful studio backs to nature, the Sugarland Bike trail, where we experience peace real-time as squirrels, chipmunks, birds and deer make their way to the studio deck. In good weather, we open the sliding glass door to hear the birds or the babbling brook that lines the bike trail. When we do our Sun Salutations, we stare out into the vast forest communing with nature.
The second aspect which makes us different is our respect for your space and your practice. We understand what it’s like to be crammed into a crowded studio with no place to lie your mat only to have your neighbor drip sweat on you or to have to bring in your arms and not stretch completely for fear that you might touch the person next to you. Our studio will fit 13 mats comfortably and that’s O.K. with us. 13 is a lucky number for Michelle Fondin, the studio owner, and that way we get to know you and your needs. You will never be just one of 40, 50, 60 or 70 on a studio space.
Thirdly, yoga asana practice ( yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques) are just two aspects of a complete yoga practice. Health is more about exercise, it’s more about simply letting go of stress for one hour. By integrating meditation and Ayurvedic lifestyle, we understand the complete picture of health. So you may start in our studio with a group yoga class but when you’re ready to take it to the next level with meditation, an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation, or the Perfect Health Ayurvedic Lifestyle course we’re there to serve you. We want to see you live a healthy, preventive lifestyle.
Lastly and the most important aspect of coming to The Ayurvedic Path, is our sense of community. We’re a place where students get to know each other easily and when they feel at home.
